Report on the results of BIA activities
on organized crime in 2004

In first three months of 2004 BIA has realized many actions on the territory of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Department for Fight Against Organized Crime (UBPOK), Belgrade Secretariat of Interior (GSUP) and other regional Secretariats of Interior. In those operations the value of seized goods was 1.589.000 ˆ . The list follows:

1) Narcotics – total value about 380.000 ˆ

  • 160 kilos of marijuana (30.000 ˆ)

  • 10,239 kilos of heroin (350.000 ˆ)

2) Cigarettes total value about 850.000 ˆ

  • 522.550 packs of cigarettes

3) Money in cash

  • 59.000 ˆ

4) Other (weapons, army equipment, crude oil derivates, vehicles, food products, etc.) – total value about 300.000 ˆ.

5) 104 illegal immigrants have been prevented from crossing over our country's territory and criminal charges have been brought against 5 persons, citizens of Serbia and Montenegro, under Act 111-6. of Criminal Code of the Republic of Serbia.
